This project was approached by questioning the relationship between the structural system and the massing. Do they have to regulate and contain each others as the conventional way? This project aimed at deviating the conventional construction typology by having the 40 ft deep trusses at the top where the boxes were hung from it. As a result, the boxes were not restrained by the structure and the structural system was positioned on top of the massing, which contrasting with the others building. By levitating the boxes 80 ft from the ground, it could provide the tenants with a better view since this building was surrounded by a group of 60-70 ft flat neighborhood; this also generates the potentiality to be an iconic landmark as the metro railway adjacent to it.
